Storm Flooding & Flood Cleanup in Vail, AZ

Vail sits near Cienega Creek and numerous desert washes that run hard during monsoon storms. Homes near washes can take on runoff through garages and doors.

Floodwater is treated as contaminated; wet carpet, pad and lower drywall are typically removed and the structure dried.

Rural properties with wells should also have their well water tested after flooding.

Homes on larger rural lots around Vail often have dirt or gravel driveways and garages below the grade of nearby washes. Water that enters through a garage can run under interior doors into living areas on slab floors, so baseboards and drywall along those walls are checked first. Afterward, simple grading and a berm to steer runoff away from the garage can prevent a repeat.
